Govt taking all measures to curb inflation: PM

New Delhi: Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has said that the Government is taking all possible measures to contain the rising prices of essential commodities and the situation will improve soon.

Sharing the concern of the members at the Congress Working Committee meeting on the issue, Dr. Manmohan Singh said that the Government is doing its best to arrest inflation. He said that the programmes initiated for the poor and the weaker sections of society have started showing results.

The Finance Minister, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee also expressed the hope that the situation with regard to price rise will normalise soon. Briefing the media the Congress General Secretary Janarrdhan Dwivedi said that that the Congress President as well as the members of the highest policy making body of the Congress expressed their serious concern over rising prices and several suggestions to tame inflation came up in the meeting.
