Heavy rains likely to occur in Tamil Nadu, Kerala

Pune: Heavy rains are likely to occur in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Rains or snow are likely to lash isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

Rains or thundershowers are also likely to occur in coastal Karnataka, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, South interior Karnataka and at isolated places in Orissa, South Chattisgarh, South Konkan and Goa, Telanagana and North interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail in West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, north Chattisgarh, Gujrat state, North Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.

The northeast Monsoon has been active in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir and in some parts of Jharkhand, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and of Madhya Pradesh and were below normal in Assam and Meghalaya, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Gujrat state, Vidarbha and Chattisgarh and in remaining parts of Haryana, Punjab and of Madhya Pradesh.

They were appreciably above normal in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and were above normal in Orissa and in some parts of west Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and of north interior Karnataka. They were normal over the rest of the country. Rain or thundershowers occured at many places in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, at a few places in coastal Andhra Pradesh, south in terrior Karnataka and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Rayalaseema, coastal Karnataka and andaman and Nicobar Islands.
