New Delhi: Institute of Cost and Works Accounts of India (ICWAI), an apex body to regulate the profession of cost and management accountancy in India, bagged recognition for its excellence and exemplary contributions in the field of corporate governance in India.
The President of India Ms Pratibha Devisingh Patil handed over the "Recognition for Excellence" to Mr. G N Venkataraman, President ICWAI, Mr. Kunal Banerjee, Past President ICWAI, Mr. Chandra Wadhwa, Past President, ICWAI and Mr. J P Singh, Director (Technical), ICWAI at a function in Vigyan Bhawan on Monday 21st December 2009 in the concluding function of the India Corporate Week 2009.
Top corporate leaders and senior functionaries of the government had attended the function. The event was also attended by representatives from the industry bodies.
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs had organized the first India Corporate Week- 2009 from December 14, 2009, which is an initiative to felicitate contribution of corporate sector towards the social and economic development of the country. It highlighted the initiatives of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs in creating an enabling environment for the growth of corporate sector as well as to highlight the role of the professional institutes in the country.
