Madhuri to star in and as Indira Gandhi!

Mumbai: Her killer smile, her Dhak Dhak steps , her Choli Ke Peche song and many more things are synonymous to Bollywood's beauty Madhuri Dixit. Though the sexy actress is not in the race after her marriage and kids but she is all set to rock the silver screen again . According to grapevine versatile actress Madhuri Dixit Nene is going to put another feather in her cap as she will be playing the 'Iron Lady' Mr. Indira Gandhi in her up coming flick.

Renowned Asian-American filmmaker Krishna Shah making a biopic on late PM Indira Gandhi and as per buzz has succeed in roping in diva Madhuri Dixit Nene to play the role of India’s first prime minister. The movie is said to be called, The Indira Gandhi Story’, the film was announced on the late prime minister’s 92nd birth anniversary. The film to be shot in Hindi with English language.

This big budget movie will be having all the big names from bollywood and hollywood and will be shot in US, Britain, Russia and India. From Bollywood big names like Dharmendra, Abhay Deol and Nana Patekar have been cast to play Motilal Nehru, Rajiv Gandhi and Jai Prakash Narayan and from hollywood too actors like Tom Hanks (as Lyndon Baines Johnson), Tommy Lee Jones(to play Richard Nixon) are been roped if sources are to be believed.

Speaking about her ambitious project Krishna Shah said, ''I have followed Indira Gandhi's life through media, books and critics. It's such an exciting and dramatic story. I want the future generations to know her story. A whole new generation has grown and matured since her assassination and through this film, I hope to connect people with their history and legacy.'' In order to do justice to the sweep of Indira Gandhi's remarkable life, the story will be a two-part film; Shah has split the film in two parts. While the first part will unfold her story from her birth to her emergence as 'Maa Durga' (Goddess of War) after her victory against Pakistan in the 1971 war, the second part will cover the political span of the rise of her son Sanjay Gandhi under Indira to her assassination.

It will be a treat for all the ek do teen girl Madhuri Dixit Nene's fan to see their favouties ctress back on silver screen after Aaja Nach Le.
