Srinagar: A moderate intensity earthquake rocked Srinagar and its adjoining areas last night, forcing people to rush out of their houses in panic. No casualities have been reported yet.

The tremors, which were felt at 2214 hrs lasted for few seconds.

Other details about its epicentre were awaited.

There was no report of any loss of life or damage to property.

Yesterday, Meghalaya was hit by the moderate intensity quake as well.
