Taliban attack Army GHQ in Rawalpindi
Taliban attack Army GHQ in Rawalpindi

New Delhi: Pakistan’s evil designs against others boomeranged on to itself. The Taliban attacked the General Headquarters of the Army in Rawalpindi on Saturday, the 10 October, 09. Six soldiers including a brigadier and a lieutenant and four militants were killed. Two members of the Taliban took an unspecified number of soldiers as hostages.

The Pakistani military was looking for them through an aerial survey of the suspected spots. There was an urgent meeting attended by the Pak President Zardari, the Army Head Gen. Kayani and ISI Chief to deal with the aftermath and planning how to counter the increasing menace of the genie out of the bottle of the country’s own making.

Pakistan has seen quite a few attacks in a week. The earlier ones were one on Monday on UN Office of World Food Program in Islamabad; on Friday in another attack 52 civilians were killed and about a 100 injured in an attack by the Taliban. It is believed the Taliban Head Hakimullah Mehsud is behind the attack in order to show the military and the government of Pakistan that the killing of Baitullah Mehsud wouldn’t go un revenged.

It seems Pakistan is having a taste of its own pudding in aiding the Taliban and abetting their acts against the civilized world. But the question is whether even now the ISI and its allies in perpetuation of these acts will realize what they are doing and what they hope to achieve.
