Pawar passes buck over Jairam in Bt Brinjal case

New Delhi: The issue of BT brinjal has taken two ministries to face off the protest, who against the genetically modified product and the Union agriculture minister has kept himself away by saying that the ball is now not in Jairam Ramesh’s court, as his ministry to decide the matter.

Sharad Pawar wants to make clear that for any decision in future he would not be claimed, as the matter not doesn’t lie in his domain.

Sharad Pawar affirmed that now he has not to decide it on scientific parameter and certainly now the matter is with the environment ministry, but in his opinion it is safe and should come out more.

As the whole fraternity is looking towards Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh, everyone is expecting the nod to introduce the Genetically Modified vegetable into India.

Even the world media has kept close eye over the decision as it influence the United States interests involved with Monsanto, the company that produces BT Brinjal and has patented the variety, pushing for the GM seed to be introduced in India.
