Raipur: The Shiv Sena will oppose Valentine's Day celeberations in Chhattisgarh on February 14 in a ''peaceful manner.''

The organisation has chalked out a series of agitational programmes in the state capital ahead of the Valentine's Day to arouse public opinion, particularly among the youth, against what it called ''most dangerous and harmful'' western culture.

Talking to reporters here today, Shiv Sena leaders Anurag Agrawal and Deepak Bharadwaj said, their cadres would distribute pamphlets across the city on February 8 followed by a motorcycle rally on February 12 while appealing to the mall, hotel, restaurants, greeting gallery and club owners not to promote or organise any function under the guise of Valentine's Day celebrations.

The leaders, however, asserted that they would not take the law into their own hands and assault those caught celebrating by the Shiv Sainiks who would keep a close watch at all public places.
