Togadia terms Kerala as Kashmir of South India

Kozhikode: Describing Kerala as Kashmir of South India, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) International Secretary General Pravin Togadia today said God's own country has turned out to be a breeding ground for terror modules in the region.

Speaking to reporters here, he said the terror elements operating in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka had established their link with Kerala if the recent developments were any indication.

This had also pointed to the stark reality that the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) Government in the state had miserably failed to contain the menace, he alleged.

Stating that preaching 'jehad' was the main cause of growing terrorism, he said any political party attempting to glorify it was not sincere to the nation.

On job reservations, he alleged that the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government at the Centre was attempting to 'rob' 27 per cent quota allocated to Other Backward Classes to appease minorities in the country by increasing ten and five per cent more to Muslims and Christians, respectively as recommended by Justice Rangnath Mishra Commission.

Describing the move as a ''dacoity'' on Hindu community, he said VHP would mobilise students and youths if the government went ahead with the proposal.

On the proposed move to give below proverty line status to Muslims, he said the move was an affront to non-muslims.

A campaign would be launched throughout the country against it, he added.

The main backwardness of the country was due to population growth as people of a particular community were able to have multiple wives and children, he said.
