Turkey quake survivors hit by cold weather
Turkey quake survivors hit by cold weather

With the death toll rising and relief work picking up in eastern Turkey, the earthquake survivors crowded the aid tents erected for them. Now, it is the cold climate is troubling them. The homeless survivors spend their time huddled around bonfires to escape from the cold.

The Kurdish village of Okcular was the worst hit by the quake and now looks like a heap of rubble and it is estimated that 900 residents of 15 villages have been killed as per the Elazig governor's office.

The powerful earthquake in the wee hours caught many residents unawares. While the poorly made buildings and houses crumbles into piles of rubble instantly, the panic-stricken survivors ran through the narrow streets of the villages to the open grounds.
