Adventure Sports takes centre stage in Solang Valley

Manali, Feb 10 On a snow-clad mountain here in Solang Valley, some of India' s best skiers and snowboarders squared off in a battle royale in the Alpine Premier League.

The five-day event was held here Feb 5-9.

Santosh Kumar of Young Man Winter Sports Club (YMWSC) finished the fastest in men's slalom. Jamyang Namgial of Army Sports Control Board (ASCB) and his partner Sunny Kumar rounded the top three.

In men's giant slalom, Heera Lal of Manali Club finished with the best time while Jamyang Namgial and Arif Khan of Jammu and Kashmir came in second and third, respectively.

Varsha of MSA beat Pooja Thakur of YMWSC for the top position in women's giant slalom. Nadeem Iqbal of ASCB and his partner Mohammad Ilyas finished first and second, respectively, in the men's section.
