Blast in cracker shop kills four in Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow: With Diwali in sight, the fire crackers are up for sale, and so are the accidents that have started to create mishaps. In a powerful explosion at a crackers shop in Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj district on Saturday, police said that at least four people, including two minors, were killed and seven critically injured.
According to police inspector Vikram Singh, the casualtie sincluded an employee of the shop and three other locals, who were probably purchasing the crackers. Maharjgunj is some 300 km from Lucknow.
The injured were admitted to hospitals in Maharajganj and Gorakhpur districts and their condition is stated to be critical, he added. Police suspect that an electrical short-circuit might have triggered the blast.
