Bhubaneswar (Orissa): The State Bank of India (SBI) adopted animals of the Nandankanan Zoo under the innovative scheme ‘Adopt an animal’.
Mr. M N Rao, Chief General Manager, State Bank of India local head office donated Rs. 5,00,000/- to the Director of Nandankanan Zoological Park, Dr. Ajit Kumar Patnaik towards adoption of six endangered animals of the Zoo.
The endangered rare animals like one horned Rhinoceros, White Bengal Tiger, Chimpanzee and Orang-Utan adopted by the State Bank of India as Foster Parent.
The expenses for their food and medicines etc. will be borned from the amount of donation. The donation was handed over to the Director of the Zoo Sri Patnaik in a simple function organized in the Nandankanan Zoo in presence of the officials of the Zoo and Sri P K Mohanty, Asst General Manager of the State Bank of India (Public Relation).
The gesture of the Bank for this noble cause for conservation of endangered animals appreciated by the Zoo authorities and the general public.
