Cheryl Kaye Tardif: Tell us about SACRIFICE. What gave you the idea to write it? 

Kelly Komm: Sacrifice is the story of a girl who, after 16 years of believing she is an Elf, is told she is actually Human?a race thought to have been obliterated. She then joins with the last Humans in Cantro to fight for the right to exist. I can honestly say I don’t know where the idea for The Last Forever duology came from. I woke up one day—there it was, and I began to write it out.

CKT: How long did it take from writing the first word to getting it published?

KK: The first words were written in September of 2002 and it was published December of 2007. Wow—I didn’t realize it took that long!

CKT: How did it feel to hold the first copy of SACRIFICE in your hands?
