Madhya Pradesh Congress mobilising workers from blocks for February 22 protest

BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Congress is mobilising its workers from the block levels across the state for its mega demonstration against the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government on February 22.
Speaking to TOI, the party’s media panellist Jeetendra Mishra said, “There are 480 blocks in the state. The party is trying to get workers from all across to ensure participation from every corner of every district.”

On February 22, Congress will hold an agitation against the ruling BJP government on five major issues including police action on PCC chief Arrun Yadav during an NSUI demonstration against demonetisation last month. Yadav had to be hospitalised after he sustained grievous injuries during the lathi-charge.
Congress demonstration will also be to denounce manhandling of party deputy leader of Opposition Bala Bachchan by BJP MP Subhash Patel during a government function at Badwani in January.

Congress protest will also be against alleged anti-people policies of the state government , demonetisation chaos and atrocities against the Opposition party workers.
“Our central leaders Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia have confirmed their participation. We are awaiting the confirmation from Digvijaya Singh, Suresh Pachauri and Kantilal Bhuria though we have been told that they will all be joining this agitation. AICC general secretary in-charge of the state Mohan Prakash will also lead from the front with Arun Yadav,” Jeetendra Mishra added.
