A Beginner’s Guide to the IndusInd Bank Duo Card

The IndusInd Bank Duo Card, the first of its kind in India, is a card that seamlessly blends the features of a Debit Card and a Credit Card, thereby allowing users the freedom to dispense with multiple cards and to enjoy the myriad benefits of both.

In addition to a great deal of convenience and flexibility, the IndusInd Bank Duo Card has the following benefits:

  1. An attractive Rewards Programme under which you get one Reward Point for every Rs. 150 spent on your IndusInd Bank Duo Card.
  2. Freedom from payment of fuel surcharge at petrol stations located anywhere in the country.
  3. Air accident insurance of up to Rs. 25 lakhs and insurance on delayed or lost baggage, among others.

How to Use Your Duo Card:

In keeping with its binary role, the IndusInd Bank Duo Card has two inbuilt EMV Chips and PINs, which provide the user with comprehensive security for all transactions.

  1. Using the Duo Card at the ATM: You may use your IndusInd Bank Duo Card as a Debit Card at the ATM to withdraw cash from the existing funds in your bank account by entering your Debit Card PIN. Likewise, you may use your Duo Card as a Credit Card at the ATM to obtain a cash advance against your Credit Card limit by entering your Credit Card PIN.

  1. Using the Duo Card at Point-of-Sale Merchant Establishments: In order to make a payment using the funds available in your IndusInd Bank Account, insert your Duo Card into a POS machine slot from the ‘ATM/Debit Card’ i.e. the blue arrow side and enter your Debit Card PIN. On the other hand, if you want to pay for transactions using the Credit Card limit, make sure to insert your Duo Card into the POS Machine slot from the ‘Credit Card’ or the yellow arrow side and enter your Credit Card PIN. To pay for transactions at Non Chip and PIN POS Merchant Terminals, you need to swipe your Duo Card Magstripe according to your preferred card option and enter the requisite PIN.

  1. Using the Duo Card Online: Your IndusInd Bank Duo Card will come in handy for all online transactions, be it online shopping or bill payments. If you would like to do an online transaction using the funds in your IndusInd Bank Account, you need to enter your Debit Card details (card number, expiry date, CVV) on the Merchant Website to make the payment. You may also authenticate the online transaction using the Verified by Visa (VBV) password, or the One Time Password (OTP) which will be sent to you, on your registered mobile number or email address.

Similarly, if you would like to make an online payment using the Credit Card limit, you need to enter the details of your Credit Card (card number, expiry date, CVV) on the Merchant Website and proceed to make the payment. You can authenticate the online transaction using the Verified by Visa (VBV) password or the One Time Password (OTP), which will be sent to you, on your registered mobile number. Any online transaction carried out with your Duo Credit Card details will appear on your monthly Credit Card statement.

Thus, no matter how and where you choose to use your multi-functional IndusInd Bank Duo Card, it is incredibly simple to operate and comes packed with a host of advantages that your regular Debit or Credit Card doesn’t always offer.
