As a customer, you will have the full freedom to design / configure your car, and see it digitally ready even before you go to the dealership and pay booking amount.
Tata Motors’ ‘Do it Yourself’ (DIY) strategy will also be implemented in the company’s truck business, enabling vehicle configuration as per requirement, an absolute need to meet varied transportation needs. Tata Harrier based on the modular Omega platform is scheduled for launch in Q4 of the current FY (before March 2019). The platform will breathe life into multiple models and enable parts sharing. Cars built on Omega and Alpha platform will enable buyer configuration.Designed by Tata Motors’ engineering team, the configuration will be made a part of the company’s existing eGuru app. Through the buying process, as a buyer approaches a dealership, a sales rep will explain all available options, and a unique configuration ID will be assigned for customer identification.
Choices keyed in by a customer and the config ID will be loaded onto Tata Motors’ CRM system to proceed with order confirmation, and payment processing. All data input will be accessed on TML SAP system for production, internal tracking, and until vehicle handover/delivery.
A rival to the Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass, new Tata Harrier H5X will be offered with a 2.0 liter diesel engine mated to a MT and AT. 2WD as well 4WD options will on offer. Price range expected is Rs 12-15 lakhs.
