About 180 guest workers and their families from Chhattisgarh were flown to Raipur aboard a chartered flight from the city on Thursday under Mission Aahan Vaahan. The mission has been initiated by a few alumni members of the National Law School of India University (NLSIU ), Bengaluru.
These guest workers had been stranded without any work since the lockdown was imposed in Bengaluru and nearby areas. The flight was sponsored by Ajay Bahl, a NLSIU alumni and managing Partner at AZB & Partners, a law firm.
The NLS alumni team has liaised with the Chhattisgarh government to ensure that the workers are able to reach their respective homes upon landing in Raipur.

This is the first flight out of Bengaluru under Mission Aahan Vaahaan. Since May 28, more than 500 stranded guest workers have been transported by chartered flight from Mumbai to Jharkhand and Odisha, under this mission.
