The BJP on Thursday termed the suicides and molestation cases in Covid-19 Specialized Hospitals as a tainted chapter in the tenure of the Congress government in Chhattisgarh.

In a statement to the media, BJP state spokesperson and MLA Shivratan Sharma said that with so much negativity all around, the government has lost the moral right to remain in power.

He said that amid the spike in Covid-19 cases, there are differences of opinion within the government and the government seemed to be confused on to how to tackle the pandemic in the state.

He demanded that the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO) should be imposed against the hospital authorities also apart from the accused as the video of an assault on a woman was released in the social media.
