With a recent report on an IG of Chhattisgarh Police being charged with alleged sexual offence, a deputy SP rank officer posted in CBI office, situated at sector 9 in Bhilai, has now been charged for alleged sexual harassment of an ASI rank woman officer working in the same office.
On the complaint filed by the victim in Delhi office of CBI, one DIG rank officer Lata Manoj Mohan visited the Bhilai office to meet the complainant on August 22, and carry out an investigation.
CBI’s deputy SP rank officer booked for sexual harassment
The accused officer, currently posted at CBI, is from the Chhattisgarh State Services and is on deputation. He resides in Padbhnapur area of Bhilai.
Two women, a clerk and SI, had previously complained against the officer about sexual harassment. A complaint was filed at Padbhanapur Police Station, however a case was not registered against him.
ASP City Rajesh Agarwal denied knowledge of any such incident.
All the three victims of sexual harassment have now complained to the CBI director and requested him to send the accused to his previous service cadre.
On being contacted for comment on the issue, SP CBI Tanmay Behra said he was out of town and will only comment after reaching Bhilai.
