A Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) official allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service weapon on Wednesday at a police camp in Chhattisgarh’s insurgency-hit Dantewada district.
Company commander Chandraprakash Singh, belonging to 18th battalion of CAF, shot himself with his service rifle late this evening at Cholnar police camp, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Kamlochan Kashyap told PTI.
He was rushed to a local hospital where he was declared brought dead, the SP said, adding that the reason for taking the extreme step is not known yet.
