Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will conduct the Grih Pravesh of beneficiaries in the newly constructed 50 thousand houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) on February 23. These houses have been built at a cost of Rs 1925 crores. Along with this, Chief Minister Chouhan will also do bhoomi-poojan of 30 thousand new houses to be constructed at a cost of 1155 crores. In the programme itself, the Chief Minister will transfer Rs 250 crore to the accounts of 26 thousand 500 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
This virtual programme will be held at Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre (Minto Hall) from 3 pm onwards. Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Bhupendra Singh and Minister of State OPS Bhadauria will also address the programme.
Chief Minister Chouhan will also interact with the beneficiaries. The programme will also take place in all the urban bodies. The live telecast of the main programme will be done through Doordarshan, regional electronic channels, Facebook, YouTube channel of Public Relations and webcast through gov.in/mp/cmevnts.
Key points
So far 8 lakh 68 thousand houses have been sanctioned for the eligible beneficiaries in the state.
The houses of 4 lakh 72 thousand beneficiaries have been completed.
Construction of remaining houses is in progress.
Under the BLC component, the construction of the house is done by the beneficiaries themselves.
A grant of Rs. 2 lakh 50 thousand per house is being provided to the selected beneficiaries. The central share of 1 lakh 50 thousand rupees per house and state share of one lakh rupees per house is included in this.
The remaining amount of housing construction is being borne by the beneficiary himself.
Registered construction workers of weaker income group category, who are not able to meet the beneficiary’s share, are also provided additional grant of up to one lakh rupees by the state to meet their contribution through the Chief Minister’s Building and Construction Workers Housing Scheme.
The first name of the woman of the beneficiary family is being entered in the registry of the house.
With special efforts in the state, interest subsidy (amount up to Rs. 2 lakh 67 thousand) has been provided to 1 lakh 20 thousand homeless families of EWS, LIG and MIG category.
