Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday paid tributes to social reformer and educationist Swami Atmanand by garlanding his portrait on his death anniversary.
Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey and Forest Minister Mohammed Akbar were also present, an official communication said.
Noting the contribution of Swami Atmanand, Baghel said his ideals and values will always inspire everyone to do public service. Swami Atmanand established Narayanpur-based Swami Vivekananda Ashram School for the forest dwellers. He made significant contributions to society by serving humanity and promoting education and moral values, Baghel said.
Following the footsteps of Swami Atmanand, the Chhattisgarh government has started the Swami Atmanand English Medium School to educate children from the economically weak background.
