Dalit boy killed in broad daylight for marrying girl he loved

A Dalit boy was killed allegedly by some anti-social elements for marrying a girl of his own choice in Raipur.
The deceased, Amar Das Banjare belongs to Satnami community and was ostracised by his own family for his act, informed villagers.

The incident took place when Banjare came to attend the Satnami community meeting called to discuss the matter. Some miscreants attacked him near Ruhi village, few kilometres from Raipur, in Patan block.
He was mercilessly beaten by them in the broad daylight, several persons gathered near the scene but no one came to his rescue.
The news was spread like fire in the area and created panic among the villagers.
Meanwhile, police have arrested all the four accused who acted as the members of Khap Panchayat.
IG Durg, Dipannshu Kabra said, it is unfortunate that a man was killed because he married a girl of his own choice.
Police reached the spot just after few hours of the incident and arrested all the four men involved in murder. Orders were issued for further probe into the case, he added.
