Sheena case: Indrani, driver sent to judicial custody

MUMBAI: Two key accused in Sheena Bora murder case – Indrani Mukerjea and her former driver Shyam Rai – were sent to judicial custody for 14 days.

Sanjeev Khanna, third accused in the case, will be taken to Kolkatta for further investigation.

The three key accused in the Sheena Bora murder case – Indrani Mukerjea, Sanjeev Khanna and her driver Shyam Rai – were produced in a court on Monday.

On Saturday, the Bandra metropolitan magistrate court had extended their custody till on Monday with the prosecution stating that the ongoing probe is yet to cover a large area and that Indrani remains “uncooperative and a hard nut to crack.”

Indrani, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and her former driver Shyam Rai have been arrested on the charge of murdering Sheena and disposing of the body in a Raigad forest in April 2012.

On Sunday, Indrani, the mother of 24-year-old Sheena, was taken to her residence in Worli here, apparently to connect a few “remaining dots” in the murder mystery marked by involvement of dramatis personae while Khanna and driver were grilled at Khar police station.
