Akshay Kumar-Sidharth Malhotra-starrer made impressive opening collections at the box office with Rs 15.21 crore on Friday. The movie, that is an official remake of Warriors, earned Rs 36.63 crore in two days. The earnings are not as great as you expect from an Akshay Kumar action flick, but Brothers registered a 40 per cent jump on Saturday to collect Rs 21.43 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh predicted that the collections should further rise on Sunday.
Karan Malhotra’s Brothers shows Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra as warring siblings. This is the second double digit opening film for Sidharth. His last year’s film Ek Villain had a massive opening of Rs.16.72 crore. Earlier, talking about the movie, Akshay Kumar had told PTI, “Brothers was not an easy film to make. We worked hard. We started prepping for the film five months before the shooting. We got punches on our faces because the fight sequences in the film are mostly contact fights.”
