John Abraham has voiced his concerns for the people of Kerala, braving the incessant rains and dire flood situations. The star had previously said that he is extremely disturbed by what is happening in the state, where the death toll has reportedly risen to over 300, in the past week.
The actor, who has family there and made some of his fondest childhood memories, has been doing his bit to support relief efforts while also urging fans and the general public to donate to the Chief Minister’s fund to help the flood-hit people.
In another act of solidarity, John has cancelled a success bash for his ‘Satyameva Jayate’ team. The actor’s latest mass masala outing that has been working well with the audience and has already crossed the Rs 30 crore mark, in just three days of its nation-wide release. In a statement to a daily, the actor said that he was “overwhelmed” by the adulation his film has received and thanked his fans for showing the film their support. However, as he is ‘devastated’ by the situation in Kerala, he said there would be no celebrations.
Meanwhile, the actor has begun work on his next film in ‘Gulmarg’.
