On Saroj Khan’s 71st birthday Madhuri Dixit wrote a heartfelt note to her guru. The actress took to social media and shared a video of the behind the scenes of her performance she dedicated to the choreographer at International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) this year.

On Instagram, Madhuri Dixit shared a picture of herself with Saroj Khan and wrote, “Happy birthday to one of my favourite people @mastersarojkhan ji. Our journey together has been amazing and I will always be proud of the legacy you have created. You are my Guru and will always hold a very special place in my heart. (sic)”

This year at IIFA, Madhuri Dixit dedicated her performance to the choreographer who has given some of the biggest songs of the actress’s career. The Gulaab Gang actress danced to the most popular songs of her career which were choreographed by Saroj Khan. The actress-choreographer duo has worked together for songs like Mera Piya Ghar Aaya, Dhak Dhak Karne Laga, Choli Ke Piche Kya Hai, Ek Do Teen and Dola Re Dola, among others.

Recently, Madhuri made her YouTube debut with a BTS video of her performance at IIFA this year. Sharing the behind the scenes of her IIFA performance. she wrote, “I’m so excited to share my first video on @YouTube, which is a BTS from @IIFA. Enjoy.”

Born as Nirmala Nagpal in Mumbai to a couple migrated to India after partition, Saroj Khan started as a child actor in the industry. She learnt dancing on the sets from noted choreographer and Kathak guru B Sohanlal.
