Caller threatens to abduct SP leader’s daughters

In yet another case of increasing crime in Uttar Pradesh, a Samajwadi Party leader, Neelam Romila Singh, received a phone call from an unknown number through which she was threatened of dire consequences if at all she makes claim to a party ticket from Govind Nagar Assembly seat in Kanpur.
Reportedly, the caller introduced him as Menon, a Dubai resident. He threatened the leader that he would upload obscene photos of her on the internet if at all she stakes claim to a party ticket.
The caller also threatened Singh of abducting her daughters.
Acting on the threat call, the leader went to the police station, handed over the recording of the phone call and filed a complaint.
Interestingly, Samajwadi Party has announced Sunil Shukla as the candidate from Govind Nagar Assembly constituency but, Romila Singh is still staking claim for a ticket from the same seat.
