Delhi BJP objects to fielding celebrities, party asks new list of candidates

New Delhi: Amid protests by party members over the nomination of celebrities in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has asked its Delhi unit to send a fresh list of probables for general elections, news agency PTI quoted its sources as saying on Monday.

Earlier on Friday, the Delhi BJP election committee shortlisted the name of three candidates each for the seven Lok Sabha seats in the national capital. The list did not feature former cricketer Gautam Gambhir, who was expected as a possible candidate from the Delhi seat after he joined the party.
