Sibal said that Rahul will not withdraw his words and is ready to face trial.
Meanwhile, SC refused to grant Rahul Gandhi exemption from personal appearance before lower court in the case.
RSS wanted the Gandhi heir to make a statement that RSS as an institution is not involved in the murder of Gandhi and only Nathuram Godse was involved.
Last week, Congress General Secretary Digvijaya Singh said that the party Vice President stands by his assertion that the person who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi was from the organisation.
He said,”No U Turn by Rahul Gandhi on RSS. He stands by what he said. Person who killed was from RSS. It is the Ideology of hate and violence which killed Mahatma Gandhi.”
