‘BJP protest is political drama’

The Congress in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday dubbed the demonstration staged by BJP leaders at their homes a political drama.

A statement from the Chairman of PCC’s communication wing, Shailesh Nitin Trivedi, also called it a flop show, asserting that the 56 lakh people who were given missed calls had ignored the protest.

The BJP accused the Congress of not keeping the promises it made during the Assembly elections including bringing in prohibition.

Trivedi said the Congress has fulfilled all its promises made in the 2018 election manifesto and the promise of banning liquor will also be kept. But all this has to be done in a phased manner and that the party will not enforce it like that the central government’s demonetization, he said.

It was the BJP which didn’t provide names for the political committee formed for this purpose, he added.
