CM’s advisor is Covid positive; no petrol in Dhamtari minus mask

Vinod Verma, the Political Advisor to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, was found Covid positive on Friday.

Verma tweeted: “I am infected and living in home isolation.” He asked all the people who came in his contact to get themselves tested.

The Parliamentary Advisor to the Chief Minister, Rajesh Tiwari, also recently tested positive.

In a separate development, Jashpur District Collector Mahadev Kavre declared Bartoli region in the district a containment zone up to October 22, an official press release said on Friday.

In Bartoli, 11 people were detected Covid positive, after which the administration took the decision.

In Dhamtari, considering the number of increasing Covid patients, District Collector Jay Prakash Morya issued a public notice on Friday asking petrol pump owners not to provide petrol or diesel to people not wearing masks.

According to the Health Department, Covid has gripped over 1.53 lakh people in the state.

Meanwhile, the death tally touched 1,385 and by October 15 there were 28,187 active Covid patients in Chhattisgarh. Raipur still has the most infections.
