Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday said Gauthans are inching towards self-reliance and have become a new power centre in villages. Farmers, livestock farmers and women have got a regular source of income, he said.
Baghel was virtually addressing the transfer of Rs 7.86 crores to farmers, cattle owners, Guathan committee and women self-help groups under Godhan Nyay Yojana to mark the Hareli festival.
The event marked one year completion of the Godhan Nyay scheme.
He said vermi compost and super compost as well as products like lamp, flower pots and others are being made with cow dung.
Over the year, Rs 98.8 crores have been paid, he said.
