By limiting the Monsoon session of the Chhattisgarh assembly for four days, the BJP said on Wednesday that the government feels threatened over its failures and so wanted to avoid a “meaningful discussion” in the House.
BJP MLA and spokesperson Shivratan Sharma said in a statement that the state government is trying to cover up its disastrous performance in all sectors.
With guilt feeling after the release of a survey which shows the nose-diving appeal of the government, fear has gripped those in authority and the ruling Congress party, Sharma said.
Sharma said the state is reeling under financial crises due to loans and the state schemes have failed. Quarantine centres and Covid hospitals are reporting unnatural deaths. The test results are pending even after the death of suspected Covid-19 patients.
The situation has reached such a state that the cremation of deceased Covid positive patients is not conducted even after two-three days.
Sharma also objected to the ban on the media from reporting the session. He demanded that the government should make alternative arrangements for media reporting of the assembly.
