According to a TOI report, CM Chouhan wants to launch the scheme on Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s birth anniversary, which falls on September 25. The idea was aired by the CM during a closed-door BJP meeting.
The subsidised meal programmed will initially start in Gwalior, Bhopal, Indore and Jabalpur. “The scheme is under consideration and an official announcement is yet to be made,” sources said.
Jayalalithaa’s “Amma canteens” have been a huge hit across Tamil Nadu and was launched by her government to provide quality food at subsidised price to the people, especially the poor.
