BJP to hold 10,000 Kisan Chaupals

BHOPAL: In a bid to woo farmers and farm labourers ahead of assembly polls, the state BJP will hold 10,000 Kisan Chaupals (farmer meetings) from August 2. At the chaupals, ‘Kisan Chalisa’, a forty-line verse based on the works done by the state government, will be recited.
BJP said the aim of the chaupals is to help party leaders communicate with peasants. The party leaders will highlight the schemes launched by the government for farmers in the last 15 years.
“The Kisan Chalisa will focus on ‘pro-farmer schemes’ launched by the state and the central governments,” said BJP state Kisan Morcha chief Ranvir Singh Rawat.
He said CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan recently launched Kisan Chaupal in Berasia village near Bhopal and also invited suggestions from farmers to be included in the next five-year plan. This time again, the chief minister will launch Kisan Chaupal on August 2 in 200 assembly areas simultaneously. “During 10,000 village meetings, all party workers, MLAs and members of various units will participate. The party has targeted 50 chaupals in one constituency,” said Rawat.
