RAIPUR: Police and health department on Saturday raided a pathology lab that was earlier chased out of Jaipur for conducting fake allergy tests via blood samples and charging hefty amount from people. The camp was being conducted at several places in the state capital and neighbouring districts without permission from health department.
The camp was being organised at seven spots for two days by Zairath Path Lab, luring people of giving heavy discounts on “tests usually done at rates of Rs 6000” which the lab would do at Rs 2400. The lab had also published ad in few newspapers, but there wasn’t any permission sought (which is mandatory) from health department of district collector, an officer said.
According to information, the same company was booked at Jaipur for cheating people and had to refund Rs 24 lakh to the people who approached the lab for allergy tests.
The chief medical health officer had sent a team with police to the clinics where the Zairath lab had tied up with and ordered to immediately stop the tests and refund the money to people. Action was taken at Durg, Baloda Bazaar and other districts as well.
