Chhattisgarh to develop 270-km new railway link

Centre on Tuesday announced co-operation in construction of a new railway link spread around 270 kilometres in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday.
Minister of State for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal and CM Raman Singh on Tuesday held a meeting on the rail link project to be developed in the state. The new railway line will link Dongarhgarh, Khairagarh, Kawardha, Mungeli, Kota and Katgora to Bilaspur.
According to report, a detailed presentation on the ‘Rail Corridor’ was presented and coal block issues were also discussed during the high-level deliberation.
The tracks will be developed with the co-ordination of Chhattisgarh State and Union Energy Ministry and Union Coal Ministry.
Officials of state-owned power companies, energy department, the Principal Secretary and other senior officials were also present at the meeting.
