The rebel Congress MLA from Gunderdehi, RK Rai, who had been openly supporting Chhattisgarh Janta Congress Party chief Ajit Jogi and called Rahul Gandhi an ‘ass’, has been suspended by the party.
In June this year, Ajit Jogi had formed the new party after resigning from Congress.

The legislator was suspended from the Party after a meeting of the High Powered Committee in Raipur on Tuesday.
Reacting to his suspension, RK Rai said that he has been punished because he spoke against Rahul Gandhi and said the truth.
He said, “I have made comments against Rahul Gandhi, his vision and his leadership. I am a man of free expression I cannot say a donkey a horse. According to me an ass is ass and a horse is horse.”
The Congress top brass Moti Lal Vora, Charan Das Mahant, Chhattisgarh Congress In-charge BK Hariprasad were reportedly closely monitoring the activities of the Rai.
After the meeting, Chhattisgarh Congress chief Bhupesh Baghel informed the media that rebel MLA RK Rai has been suspended for the anti-party activities.
In last eight months, RK Rai has become second MLA after Ajit Jogi’s son Amit Jogi.
Informed sources have told Pradesh18 that another MLA Siya Ram Kaushik has been warned over his alleged anti-party activities.
