Bhind, Madhya Pradesh: Admitting to ‘delay and difficulties’ in providing farm loan waivers, a Madhya Pradesh minister has apologised for not delivering on the promise made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during the Assembly elections campaign in 2018.
General Administration Minister Govind Singh said, “We couldn’t fulfill our leader Rahul Gandhi’s promise to waive off farmers’ loan up to ₹2 lakh withing ten days of forming government in the state.”
Blaming the previous BJP government for leaving the state in huge debts, Singh said we were unable to fulfill the promise in time due to financial constraints.
