IT department raids offices, residences of three prominent real estate developers

Income Tax (IT) Department officials carried out raids at offices and residential premises of three prominent real estate developers in Raipur.
According to sources, the raids were carried out at the premises of CMD of VIP Group Rakesh Pandey and owner of Corbiz Tower and Lal Ganga Complex Lalit Patwa over complaints of tax evasion.
It has been reported raids were also carried out at premises of CMD of Parthivi Group Shailesh Verma and another stakeholder Sanjay Baghel. Baghel is nephew of State Congress President Bhupesh Baghel.
IT sleuths also raided Rohinipuram house of Sanjay Baghel and his ancestral house in Patan. A group 70 officers and armed security guards carried out the raids in Raipur.
IT officers denied to speak with media. However, sources informed that the IT Department is continuously collecting information about these parties over tax fraud detected in the transactions and the ITR they filed.
Post receiving concrete intel inputs, the IT department carried out the raids, which were supervised by IT Office Bhopal and Delhi. Several officers from MP and Maharastra were also seen during in the raids.
It can be noted that these real estate groups flourished and expanded in Chhattisgarh after the state came in existence, and maximum profits were reaped when BJP regime was sworn into power.
