Jeeram Ghati massacre: Raman Singh govt likely to give go-ahead to CBI probe after cabinet meet

Raman Singh-led Chhattisgarh government is likely to make an official announcement of ordering a CBI probe into the Jeeram Ghati massacre after a Cabinet meeting on Thursday.
During the second session of Chhattisgarh Assembly on Wednesday, home minister in-charge – Ajay Chandrakar informed that Chhattisgarh government is ready for a CBI probe.
He said that if opposition members are not satisfied with the present ongoing judicial enquiry – NIA investigation, then government is ready to order a CBI investigation in the incident.
MLA Umesh Patel, son of late Nand Kumar Patel welcomed the announcement.
Bhupesh Baghel had questioned the efficiency and surveillance of police and alleged that when Gujrat Police entered Chhattisgarh and arrested absconding henchman of Asaram after which the Chhattisgarh police has perhaps woken up from its slumber.
Baghel alleged that IG Bastar SRP Kalluri was involved in several atrocities carried out in Bastar against tribals, several cases pending against him.
The leader of Opposition T S Baba said that they are happy that government agreed to their demands of a CBI probe.
