Kamal Nath continues to head MPCC

The Congress party has had an informal ‘one man, one post’ rule. This means one person can hold one post of significance.
This convention was used by Arjun Singh and other dissidents to trouble PV Narasimha Rao when he was both Congress president and prime minister. But now, in Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Nath continues to be the head of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) and leader of Congress legislative party in the state assembly.
Nath was made MPCC head in May 2018, and in December he became chief minister for 15 months. But no one is complaining as yet, as there are crucial bypolls for 24 assembly seats. We presume the top family does not want to upset power equations within the party.
