With the implementation of the scheme, a positive change has also been seen in the attitude of the society. The birth of daughters has also been encouraged. Evils like child marriage have been controlled. The participation of girls in education has received a boost. Cent percent enrollment in schools of daughters born in the family has also started.
Chouhan said that before becoming an MLA, while giving a speech in favour of daughters in a public programme he had received a challenge from an elderly woman that would you arrange for the marriage of the girls of the family. This incident prepared the ground for Ladli Laxmi Yojana.
Chouhan said that earlier discrimination used to be seen at the time of birth of a son and a daughter in the family, it was painful. After becoming the MLA in the year 1990, MP in the year 1991 and Chief Minister in the year 2005, he has started the work of providing financial assistance to the girls for higher education, while continuously increasing efforts for the welfare of the girls. Chief Minister Chouhan said that initially there were difficulties in fulfilling the resolution of not letting the daughters remain a burden. The self-confidence of girls has increased due to the arrangement of the budget by the state government and the implementation of Ladli Laxmi Yojana by linking it with studies. This is the reason that today, along with education, girls have presented examples of participation in activities other than the field of sports and culture. No stone will be left unturned to make their lives better.
