Minor girl denied permission to meet CM Raman Singh, threatens immolation

A BSc student, studying in Balod, threatened to immolate self if she was not allowed to meet the Chief Minister Raman Singh.
Reportedly, on Independence Day, the minor girl went to the CM residence in a bid to meet Raman Singh but, as he was busy with some other appointments, the meeting could not happen.

This left the girl frustrated and she threatened to immolate self.
As per the information received, the girl’s father was a police havaldar and was terminated from services in 2010 after discrepancies were found in his service record.
Due to this, the havaldar’s family had to suffer from financial instability.
Due to the increasing depression and stress, the girl decided to meet the CM but, was denied entry by the security personnel.
As a results of this, the girl threatened to commit suicide in front of the CM residence which led to her detention. The Civil Lines police later, handed over the girl to her family along with a written consent that she will be properly monitered.
TI of Civil Lines said, “The girl has been handed over to her family members on a promise that proper care of her will be taken.”
Reacting on the matter, the Congress spokesperson Rajesh Bissa pulled the government and said,”Such incidents are a results of blunt and superficial government policies which have left the youth hopeless and confused.”
