Madhya Pradesh IAS officer M Sibi Chakkravarthy who had earlier courted controversy by congratulating Tamil Nadu CM J. Jayalalithaa on her poll victory, now seems to be heading for trouble yet again as Home minister Bhupendra Singh has hinted action against him over his remarks on Facebook.
“If the so called intellectuals hated corruption as such, apart from their hate for IAS, corruption would have actually reduced,” the IAS officer posted on his FB page on Monday.

Sources claimed that the officer actually meant to take a dig at politicians over corruption.
Responding to the FB post on Tuesday, Madhya Pradesh Home minister Bhupendra Singh said that the officer should better shun his service and venture into politics. Terming Chakkravarthy’s remarks as violation of Central Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, the minister also hinted action against the officer.
Early this year, Chakkravarthy as Narsinghpur collector had triggered controversy by congratulating J. Jayalalithaa on her assembly victory. As state government served him a notice over his comments, a raging debate had followed on freedom of expression.
Couple of days ago, Chakkravarthy has been attached to Mantralaya as part of administrative reshuffle. The IAS on Monday had issued a communiqué making it clear that he was transferred on his own request.
