To defeat insurgency and rein in Naxalism in the state, the Chhattisgarh government on Wednesday decided to fill as many as 2700 posts in the four Indian Reserve Battalions.
The four battalions were sanctioned by the central government for the 16 insurgency-hit districts.
The recruitment will be on the basis of district-level roster.
A decision in this regard was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Raman Singh on Tuesday.
According to reports, around 2025 posts will be filled in Bijapur, Sukma, Bastar, Dantewada, Kanker, Narayanpur, Kondagaon and Rajnandgaon districts.
The rest 675 posts are reserved for Jashpur, Koriya, Surguja, Dhamtari, Mahasamund, Gariaband, Balod and Balrampur districts.
