High Court justice (Retd) UC Maheshwari is rumoured to be new deputy Lokayukta in Madhya Pradesh.
Social media was abuzz with justice Maheshwari’s appointment since Monday evening.
Mhow born justice Maheshwari reportedly tendered his resignation on Monday night.
He is expected to be sworn in as deputy Lokayukta on Tuesday.
Meanwhile justice Maheshwari talking to a news channel on Monday said that he always took care of the interests of the complainants in court as a lawyer and judge. “I will give my best at Lokayukta organisation.” He said.
Responding to these reports, RTI activist Ajay Dubey said that a petition has been pending in HC on fair appointment of Lokayukta and deputy Lokayukta, so any appointment before next hearing on July 1 is highly objectionable.
However, Lokayukta organization secretary Arun Kochar had denied any information on fresh appointment on Monday.
