Bhopal #Madhya Pradesh A retired additional superintendent of police allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself dead in front of over a dozen people near Dussehra Ground in Bhopal on Monday morning.
Retired police officer Shaligram took the step when he was out for a morning walk. He was 70 and was not keeping well.
Eyewitnesses said the officer first shot himself in his belly and then in his head with his service revolver. The people who saw him felling down rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead by the medical staff.
Serior police officers rushed to the spot as soon as getting the news. No suicide note has been recovered so far.
Saligram settled down in Aydhya Nagar after retirement. His last posting was in Rewa district as additional superintendent of police.
